If There Were Two of Me

If there were two of me,

The dishes would be clean,

The laundry would be done.

I wouldn’t run on caffeine.

If there were two of me,

Our floors would be shiny.

I wouldn’t have to waste time,

Working off my hiney.

If there were two of me,

I might possibly cook.

Maybe that organic stuff,

Or something from a book.

If there were two of me,

Adventures, here we come!

Instead of hanging at the house,

And acting like complete bums.

If there were two of me,

Oh what I could get done!

Groceries, gas, and target.

Errands could be fun!

If there were two of me,

My nights would be a little longer.

I would have more time to rest.

and I would mentally be stronger.

But if there were two of me,

The thing I would like best,

Is falling fast asleep,

With both of you on my chest.

Taking time to study you.

Your eyes, your cheeks, your nose.

Just sit there and admire you,

as my baby grows.

If there were two of me,

I would hold you both tight.

Staring deep into your eyes.

You are the most perfect sight.

If there were two of me,

I could soak all of this in.

Soaking in every teardrop,

and precious little grin.

If there were two of me,

I would still be a little blue.

Because there will never be enough time,

On Earth, here with you.
